Guide
How to use the KI-Denkraum
Every month our editorial team selects podcast conversations in which people with responsibility talk about AI in their companies, and distils them into insights, patterns and key findings. Because AI moves so fast, the latest always comes first. This guide gives you ideas on how to use the KI-Denkraum to maintain and build your AI skills.
Every way works with a subscription and in the trial; without an account the links lead to the preview.

The header
The items in the header take you anywhere from every page.
- “Months” opens every monthly edition since April 2026.
- “Collections” leads to Transformation through AI, AI & Leadership and AI Use Cases.
- “Resources” leads to this “Guide” and to “Podcasts”, the list of all podcasts the conversations come from.
- “Search” puts your question to all rooms at once; more under What else to know.
- “My Denkraum” collects what you have saved, plus account and team.
Up to date in 20 minutes a month
- Time
- 20 minutes a month

- the current monthly edition, here September 2026
- Result
- You know the month’s five recommendations and ten patterns and have one to three conversations to listen to.
The whole catalogue
Every line in the podcast catalogue is a conversation the editors consider worth hearing, with a short note. In September 2026 there are 106, the latest at the top. You can simply browse through the month.
The five recommendations
- “Search this room” finds conversations by title, podcast or question.
- “Audio language” shows only German or only English conversations.
- “Recommended by Lennart Gehl” hides everything except the month’s five recommendations. This link takes you straight there.
- The line below shows how many conversations you are looking at, here 5 of 106. “Reset filters” shows all again.
- “Open episode” shows the conversation with its core and reasoning.
Opening an episode
- Under “Listen to the original episode” you go to Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
- “Save for later” puts the episode into My Denkraum.
- With the thumbs you say whether the episode helped. Only the sum over all accounts is evaluated.
- “The editorial perspective” tells you in two sentences what it is about.
- “Why it is worth listening” explains why the episode was selected.
Reading the ten patterns
- Open the top 10 patterns and click a pattern to open it. You find every month in the header under “Months”.
- “Supported by these conversations” names the conversations the pattern rests on, each with Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
- “View … more sources” shows the other conversations.
- “Download all 10 as .txt” gives you all ten patterns with their sources as a text file.
Tip: You do not have to listen to everything. One to three conversations a month are enough, ideally from the five recommendations.
Understanding how AI changes leadership work
A collection like AI & Leadership is not tied to a month. It brings together all selected conversations on one topic, here since August 2024, and grows with every edition. The conversations show how generative AI really changes leadership work, told by people with responsibility of their own. The collection Transformation through AI works the same way.
- Time
- 30 minutes
- Room
- AI & Leadership
- Result
- The ten recommendations and the ten key findings on AI and leadership, with the latest conversations first
The ten recommendations
- The catalogue of the collection runs from the latest to the oldest conversation. At the top you find what was said just recently.
- “Recommended by Lennart Gehl” shows the collection’s recommendations.
- A collection has ten recommendations, not five like a month: here 10 of 147 conversations.
- “Open episode” shows core and reasoning, as in every monthly edition.
The ten key findings
- The ten key findings sum up what is most relevant across all conversations of the collection. What was said in the last three to six months weighs more than what lies a year back. One click opens a finding.
- Below it you see which conversations the finding rests on and how many of them come from the last three months.
- You can listen to each of these conversations directly on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Tip: The more recent an episode, the closer it is to what leadership experiences today. So start at the top of the catalogue.

- Your selection in one place, on every device, with links and as a text file
- What you keep with “Save for later” or “Save” you find in My Denkraum, on the far right of the header. The tabs separate saved episodes, top 10, use cases and episodes with a thumbs up.
- Under each episode you see every room it appears in. One click takes you into the room.
- “Open” takes you straight back into the episode.
- A click on “Saved” takes the episode off the list again. The thumbs next to it work as in the opened episode.
- “Copy links” and “Download as text file” take your selection with you, for instance for an email to your team.
- “View in My Denkraum” opens your list, filtered to this room.
Tip: My Denkraum belongs to your account, not to your browser. What you save on your laptop you find again on your phone.
Seeing how other companies use AI in processes and products
This is not about how individuals use AI for themselves, but about how companies build AI into their processes and products: in which department and how they implemented it. Every case comes from a conversation with someone who is responsible for it.
- Time
- 15 minutes
- Room
- AI Use Cases
- Result
- A picture of what other companies in your area have already implemented, each case with its source
- Open the catalogue of the use cases and choose the area you are interested in under “Department”. The line below shows how many cases there are and from how many conversations they come.
- Under “Company” you see everything a particular company has implemented.
- “Open” shows the case: which process or product changed, and the podcast episode in which the company talks about it.
- “Save” puts the case into My Denkraum.
Tip: Read the cases as a comparison: what of this does your company already have, and what not yet? That turns a look at others into a list of your own next steps.
How episodes get into the KI-Denkraum
We screen far more episodes than we add to the KI-Denkraum. We focus on conversations on three topics, one per collection: how generative AI changes leadership work (AI & Leadership), how companies introduce AI (Transformation through AI) and how they use AI in processes and products (AI Use Cases). Every month the best new conversations are added as a monthly edition.
Together the three collections answer the question that occupies many people in companies most: how is work changing? The collections Transformation through AI and AI & Leadership show what changes in organisation, roles and leadership. The collection AI Use Cases shows how individual processes and products change in concrete terms.
- about2,800episodes screened by the editors since early 2024, estimated
- 1,584podcast episodes in the database, from 364 podcasts
- 662podcast episodes in the KI-Denkraum, from 247 podcasts
- 106new podcast episodes in the September 2026 edition
- 5recommendations this month, the best of them; a collection has ten
The first figure is an estimate: for every 100 episodes that enter the database, we screen about 175. All other figures are counted.
What we look for when selecting podcast episodes
- People with responsibility of their own. Priority goes to conversations with people who introduce AI in their own company and answer for it. Reports by consultancies and product presentations count for less.
- Consequences for people and organisation. The focus is on how AI changes work, roles, responsibility and collaboration. Pure tool comparisons are not part of it.
- Concrete starting points. The conversations show how others go about it: who is involved, how big the team is, which steps have proven themselves.
- What was difficult, too. Conversations that openly name resistance, missing prerequisites and failed approaches are preferred.
- Room for reasoning. Mostly 30 to 75 minutes and usually with one guest. News round-ups, short formats and advertising shows stay out.
- Close to your context. German-language conversations and companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have priority. English-language episodes add to them where companies set standards. This is how the 662 conversations are split today:German: 444 (67%)English: 218 (33%) In the catalogue you choose the language under “Audio language”.
The selection is based on content alone; a place cannot be bought. The page Podcasts shows which podcasts are included.
Why recency matters
AI moves so fast that a conversation from twelve months ago often describes a situation that no longer exists. The KI-Denkraum takes this into account in four places.
- A new edition every month. That is why the monthly editions exist at all: every month the conversations of the month just past are ready, with the ten patterns that emerge from them.
- The latest is at the top. In every catalogue, in monthly editions as in collections, the most recent conversations come first.
- Recent conversations weigh more. In the key findings of a collection, what was said in the last three to six months counts more than what lies a year back.
- You see how fresh a finding is. Below every key finding it says how many of its sources come from the last three months, for instance “8 of them from the last three months”.
Good to know: There is often time between the recording and the publication of an episode. An episode published on 30 September may have been recorded two, sometimes even four weeks earlier. The editors are aware of this, and it is worth keeping in mind when you listen. The anchor is still the publication date, because every episode has one. The monthly edition, the order in the catalogue and the line on the sources follow it.
What has changed in a room
- “What’s new?” sits below every catalogue. Opened, it shows what has been added since the last version: new conversations, sharpened statements, new sources.
- Under “Saved edition” you can read earlier versions too. The dot before “Updated” marks the newest.
What else to know
Searching with your question
With “Search” in the header or the field “Or start with your question” on the overview you put a question to all rooms at once. The results come in order: first key findings and patterns, then conversations, then use cases. “Over time” shows in which months the topic came up.
Going further with your AI assistant
With a subscription every room can be downloaded as a file for your AI tool, at the room entrance with “Download Markdown (.md)” for the months and “Download collection (.md)” for the collections. In the trial you take the patterns along with “Download all 10 as .txt”.
- Attach the file in the AI tool your company has approved, in a new chat or in a project.
- Give your role and a concrete question, for example:
I run the HR department of a mechanical engineering company with 800 employees. Which three patterns affect us most? For each, name the conversations you rely on.
The file brings its own working rules for the assistant: name sources, invent nothing. What matters to you, you check in the conversation itself.
In brief
- You invite colleagues via My Denkraum and “Team”; each person gets a seat of their own.
- In the trial you read everything and download the patterns as a text file. The Markdown files come with the subscription.
- What you save or rate stays in My Denkraum, even when the trial or the subscription ends; the content then opens as a preview.
- Search terms are not stored.
What you may do with the content
- You may take individual excerpts into internal documents, for instance briefings, presentations and decision papers.
- The complete downloads are reserved for people with a seat of their own.
- You may load downloads into your own AI assistant, as long as only people with a seat of their own can access them and the service does not use the content to train AI models for third parties.
- If people without a seat are to receive more than individual excerpts on a regular basis, for instance through a newsletter or a company-wide knowledge system, this needs a separate agreement with us.
- What you downloaded during your subscription you may keep using internally afterwards.

40 new conversations in five rooms
The update of 7 October brings 40 new conversations into the KI-Denkraum, together with new editions of two months and three collections. 19 of the conversations are from October and appear in the collections until the October edition.
- September 2026, version 2: 15 conversations added, now 106. Two patterns are sharpened: companies decide in advance, by the severity of consequences, how much oversight an agent needs for each task (pattern 3), and they switch models per task on an ongoing basis and manage token budgets by role (pattern 9). Seven patterns are confirmed with new evidence.
- August 2026, version 5: 6 conversations added, now 107. No pattern changes its wording. Two are confirmed with new evidence, and pattern 10 has counter-evidence: Zapier deliberately stirs the fear of competition instead of defusing it.
- Transformation through AI, edition 3: 24 new conversations, now 288. Four key findings are sharpened: AI on top of an unchanged process also lets its weaknesses grow (3), companies choose their first use case by visibility or by attributable value contribution (4), only leadership’s visible personal use gives the workforce confidence (6), and reviewing requires judgment and expertise (10). Key finding 7 has counter-evidence, five are confirmed with new evidence.
- AI & Leadership, edition 3: 11 new conversations, now 147. Key finding 4 is sharpened: anyone who announces AI as a replacement or as a colleague triggers exactly the fear for one’s own role. Six key findings are confirmed with new evidence, three remain unchanged.
- AI Use Cases, edition 3: 32 new use cases from 18 conversations, now 498. The ten most frequent application patterns stay the same and have new evidence.
